  1. Before buying this book I knew the basics of HTML, such as head, body, p, and some others. I had to use tools for creating web pages and I never knew how it really works, and I do not use any advanced elements. Now I can make web pages much better, and many use CSS stuff. MedlinePlus This book is so well organized that is a good approach, from easy elements of elements. It covers very interesting topics of the text elements (for beginning), frames, CSS, the introduction of Java, java programming, basic 2D and 3D graphics, mouse, and KEYB. events, layout managers, AWT components, Swing, threads, network programming (excellent) and, finally, things on the server side (Java Server Pages, Servlets, …). My desire is to remove sections of the Java programming Java programming too large and complex to show in sections 2 and 3, there are also many books on Java programming. However, this is only my opinion. MedlinePlus

    * * All examples are short and independent: you must read all chapters in line to understand the example. Each topic has its beautiful and simple example that shows you the basics. I do not like reading a book from beginning to end, so I hate it when the whole book is based on a sample increases as it travels toward the – this book is not so, althow examples would be even better. Finally, this is one of the best books I have, only negative is that programming in Java should be removed as a AWT, and Java script, but should be present, but the problem is easily overcome by purchasing one of the numerous java script books (recommended: JavaScript Bible by Danny Goodman). Sorry for typos, good luck to all, hello!

  2. book well organized and well written Marty Hall is like four books in one, with major sections on HTML, Java, CGI and Java Script.

its treatment of HTML and Java are more thorough than in many books. Highly recommended for professional learning experience with web programming!

  3. This book is very consistent. If, like me, you are an experienced programmer who is trying to quickly learn Web programming, then this is the book for you. Do not waste time with lengthy explanations of what the variables are, or what is recursion. It assumes you know all this and quickly explains his four arguments.

I can not vouch for most of the section of HTML, because you know HTML, but I did not know CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and is briefly discussed here in brief about fifty pages, dotted obvious examples.

The one exception to the “explanation of adults is a chapter on OOP (Object Oriented Programming) for people new to it.

    1200 + pages of $ 40? Quite the deal.

I would like to congratulate Mr Hall for his excellent work in web programming book. I found> very helpful and supportive in the work I do. I am a web developer, I usually do as a Hoby. I work in graphics and special effects for the magazines. This book helped me a bit “as the four major codes in it. I found this book to be the best I’ve found so far. I have a collection of HTML, Java and CGI books that lend to friends, but this has become a favorite of all is like everything in one book. If you din’t have one, keep your eyes open for the re-recorded. I recommend basic Web programming.
